3Hats — Payments & Refunds
💳 How payments work
All payments on 3Hats are processed securely through our payment provider, Stripe.
When a buyer purchases an artwork:
Payment is taken immediately at checkout
The funds are held securely for a short period
This helps protect both buyers and artists.
💸 When artists get paid
Artists are paid 7 days after a purchase, unless an issue is reported.
This holding period allows time for:
delivery
any potential disputes
Once released, funds are paid to the artist via Stripe.
📦 Shipping & delivery
Artists are responsible for:
packaging
shipping
providing tracking (if available)
Buyers will be notified once an artwork has been shipped.
🔁 Refunds & issues
If something goes wrong (for example: damaged item, wrong item, or not as described):
Buyers can report an issue through the platform
3Hats will review the case
A resolution will be provided
💰 How refunds are handled
If a refund is approved:
The payment is returned to the buyer’s original payment method
The refund amount is deducted from the artist’s Stripe balance
If the artist does not have enough balance they will be required to reimburse the platform
🧾 Fees
3Hats takes a small commission from each sale.
This fee is deducted automatically
Buyers do not pay additional platform fees
🔒 Payment security
3Hats does not store your card details.
All payments are handled securely by Stripe, a global payment provider.
